Hōu Anō Design
Hōu Anō are Maori words which translate into “new again”, which encapsulates our purpose.
We are passionate about recycling, renewing and re-purposing with STYLE.
To take something which has been discarded, is a little worse for wear or simply unloved, to renew it, not only to its former beauty, but with a whole new lease of life. Bursting with personality and up to date style, each of our pieces has a carefully selected name and is truly one of a kind.
We work only with well made solid wood items which are lovingly stripped back and refinished with natural oils that are safe for the environment as well as our and your health.
Each piece is also creatively enhanced by Debra Bray, our principal artist and designer, to modernize and invigorate it with colour and pizzazz.

With a background as a computer programmer and a degree in Fine Arts, Debra combines very high attention to detail with outstanding creative flair to produce beautifully finished, unique and very stylish pieces that appeal equally to those that appreciate the fine craftsmanship of a bygone era and those that enjoy up-to-the-minute interior design.
